"Progress is a natural side-effect of staying focused." - Thomas Sterner
I cannot stress to you enough just how important FOCUS is for yourself and your business, the fastest way to lose the prize is to take your eyes off of it. I aways tell my clients how essential this part of the year is because many entrepreneurs lose focus. Instead of assessing mistakes from the first half of the year to make improvements, many people would rather relax and sunbathe. Don't let this be you!
Here are three steps to getting your focus back:
Eliminate Toxic People: This is non-negotiable. It is extremely difficult to stay focused on your business when there are toxic people in your life. Look at your circle and think about who is uplifting you vs. who is always bringing you down. Make adjustments accordingly. You cannot afford to let someone else's negative energy and toxic behavior take a toll on the business that you worked so hard to build.
Strategically Schedule Vacation: After nearly five years as a full-time entrepreneur, I am just getting the hang of this one. You don't have to sacrifice vacation to have a successful business, but you do have to be mindful of when you go on vacation. For example, it's probably not in your best interest to schedule a two-week international vacation during the peak time in your industry. This is the time when your focus should be times ten so that you can maximize when it comes to sales. Prioritize and understand that vacation will always be there.
Renew Your Vows: When you started your business, you made a commitment to do whatever it would take to make the business successful. Sometimes as we get caught up being in business, we can forget this. Renew your vows to your business by looking over the goals and plans you made when you first started. Recommit and recharge, your business will always need your focus and dedication.
THIS WEEK'S FIRE YOUR BOSS TIP: Still Don't Know Your Worth?
Many entrepreneurs will never get to a certain point financially simply because they don't know their worth, don't let this be you! Successful entrepreneurs know the value they bring and are unapologetic about their rates. ALWAYS stand by what you charge. Keep in mind that no matter how high your rates are there will always be someone willing to pay it, and no matter how low your rate is there will always be someone who isn't willing to pay it.
