Surprisingly, I had a moment the other day where I thoroughly enjoyed Periscope. At first I was not a fan of the whole live stream thing but it is actually pretty cool. Yesterday, I did a scope on three places to find clients and got lots of great feedback so I wanted to share with you guys as well in case you missed it. We are going to share a few resources here, but many of my secret client generation methods are in our Get More Clients Cheat Sheet. One question I get from lots of coaches/consultants is where do I find clients who will actually pay me for my services?
Below, I have listed three of my favorite places to find clients:
Conferences/Seminars: Conferences and seminars are great places to find clients because the people attending have invested in themselves to learn something. Let me repeat that, the people who are there have invested in themselves. If you are having trouble finding paying clients, you have to stop going where the non-paying clients are. Yes, conferences can be pretty pricey but they are so worth it. Many of the guests we had on our She's So Fearless Virtual Conference were from relationships built at conferences. Trust me, the investment will pay off.
The List: You are getting this email because you are on our list either because you want to start a business, have a business and want to fire your boss, or want to build your business up so that you never have to have a boss again. It's the same way with your list! People are in your community for a reason, keep them engaged and let them know how you can help them. People have a part to play in reaching out to you, however you have a due diligence as a coach/consultant to reach out to them as well. I recommend communicating with your list as least once per week! (Note: So if you need help with launching a business, firing your boss, or growing your revenue to remain self-employed then Click here to apply for a discovery session with me. It's free. It wouldn't be right if I did not plug that here :-))
Association Events: Another one of my favorite places to find clients is association events. There are so many associations related to every industry or every kind of degree. Do your research to see what is in your industry. These events are great because they are credible as many of the associations have been around for years. Also, the members pay to be apart of the association so again you are putting yourself in the room with people who are investing in themselves.
Now of course there is more to getting a client. You have to understand marketing effectively to generate leads and more importantly, you have to know how to sell without selling. In our Profit Mastery Course we teach our clients the step-by-step process to getting clients and enrolling them, however this information is a great start and I can't wait to see how it changes things for you!
