So if you could not already tell by the title, this is a very personal post. While it's personal, I felt compelled to share it because lately I have had so many people around me experiencing things in their personal lives and allowing it to be detrimental to their businesses.
Like any woman, I have had my share of breakups and drama in my personal life. I am a true believer that there is a lesson in everything and God never does anything to hurt us. If you are going through something in your personal life, whether it's a breakup or not, hopefully this blog will help you.
Don't Let A Good Thing Get Away: When things go wrong in our personal lives, sometimes we need "a moment." As entrepreneurs we are people too, but you have to be mindful of how long you allow your moment to be. When I am upset about anything, I give myself an hour tops to complain and then I get over it. Why? Because I have a business that relies on me. It may feel like no one is paying attention, but you never know when God will pull your card and say that it's your turn. You have to always be ready! Don't allow your business to go down the drain for something that will only be temporary.
The Signs Never Lie: In a relationship, the signs are usually there at the very beginning- we just choose to ignore them. It's the same in business. How many times have you ben in the process of signing up a client or partnering with someone and you just simply did not feel right about it. If you ever get a red flag in the very beginning, listen to your gut! I have NEVER ever got a red flag about a client and been wrong about it. Save yourself the time and the headache.
Upgrade Just Ahead: This is the top reason why you should not cry over spilled milk. So many times, we dwell on the business opportunities we feel that we "lost" that we don't even realize that God has something better just around the corner. I used to do this a lot in my early days. If something did not work out, it felt like the end of the world. As business owners, we have to focus on what is ahead, the windshield showing what is ahead is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason!
If you are currently experiencing something in your personal lives, I hope this blog post helped you. For some, this may be a little too personal but I am always willing to share my mistakes and lessons if it can be helpful to someone else. Be blessed!
